Meliora Music Entertainment ("Meliora," "we," "us") provides mixing and mastering services to independent artists, and reaches out to prospective clients through Instagram. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have — including the specific ways we handle data accessed through Instagram and Facebook.

Who this applies to

This policy covers three kinds of people:

Information we collect

About prospective clients (outreach)

Before we ever contact an artist, we gather a small set of facts from Chartmetric, a third-party music-industry data platform, and from the artist's own public Instagram profile: artist name, approximate monthly listener count on Spotify, recent release information, genre, general location (city), Instagram handle, and public follower counts. This information is used only to decide who to reach out to and to write a relevant, honest first message — it is never sold, and we never contact anyone through any channel other than Instagram direct message.

Instagram messages

If you reply to a message from us on Instagram, we receive your message content and your Instagram-assigned sender identifier through Instagram's messaging platform (via the Meta Graph API), so a team member can read and respond to you. To help our team respond, the text of your reply is sent to Anthropic's Claude service, which sorts it (for example, "interested," "already has an engineer," or "not right now") and drafts a suggested response for a team member to consider. We do not automate replies — every message you receive back from us is written and sent by a person, who may use, edit, or ignore that suggestion.

Client portal accounts

If you become a client, we create an account for you with your name and email address. You use this to log in, upload and download audio files related to your project, and exchange notes with your engineer. Files you upload (stems, reference tracks) and files we send back (mixes, masters) are stored so both sides can access them, and are visible only to you and Meliora staff — never to other clients.

Staff and team accounts

We keep basic account information (name, email, role) for our own team members who use our internal tools.

Technical information

Our website and client portal use cookies only to keep you logged in and to protect forms from cross-site attacks (standard session and security cookies). We do not use advertising or cross-site tracking cookies, and this site does not request access to your microphone or camera.

How we use Instagram and Facebook data

Because we use Meta's platform (Instagram's messaging API, connected directly to our own Instagram business account) to communicate with prospective clients, this section speaks specifically to that:

Who we share information with

We use a small number of service providers to run our business. None of them are permitted to use your information for their own purposes:

We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with data brokers or advertisers.

How long we keep information

We keep prospective-client information for as long as we're considering or pursuing an outreach relationship, and client/project information for as long as needed to deliver the work and maintain a record of it. If you'd like anything about you deleted sooner, contact us using the details below and we'll act on it, except where we're required to keep something for legal or accounting reasons.

Your choices

Security

Client files and account credentials are stored on infrastructure we control directly, accessible only to authenticated staff and, for a client's own files, that client. Passwords are never stored in plain text.

Children's privacy

Our services are directed at artists and businesses, not children. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 13.

This policy describes our actual practices as a small, hands-on mixing and mastering business — it isn't a substitute for legal advice, and if you have specific compliance requirements (for example under GDPR or CCPA), we're happy to talk them through directly.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we'll update the date at the top of this page.
